SA Holistic Care provides short term accommodation for NDIS participants across Adelaide. You can stay for one night or up to 14 days. We provide meals, activities, and support workers around the clock.

What is Short-Term Accommodation & Respite Care?

STA is NDIS funding for a short stay away from your usual home. Your support workers, meals, and accommodation are all included. It gives you a change of environment and time to try new things. It also gives your family or carer a short break.

How we manage your care before, during, and after your stay

NDIS compliance

STA is funded under registration group 0115. We are a registered NDIS provider and fully compliant with NDIS Practice Standards for safe environments, emergency management, and quality care.

Incident management

Documented protocols in place for all incidents, with family or carer notification within 24 hours of any reportable event.

Medication and health

All medication administration is managed by trained staff, with clinical oversight available for complex health requirements.

Transition back home

We provide a brief written summary of your participant's stay — activities, health notes, anything worth flagging — so there's continuity when they return home.

What is STA funding?

How long can I stay?

You can stay for one night or up to 14 days, depending on what your plan funds.

Do I need to have a carer to use STA?

No. STA is available to any NDIS participant with STA funding in their plan. You do not need to have a carer at home to be eligible.

Is there a support worker with me overnight?

Yes. A support worker is in the house overnight during your stay.

Can I get nursing support during my stay?

Yes, if your NDIS plan includes Community Nursing Care (Registration Group 0114). If it does not, our support workers provide daily support as your plan outlines.

I have complex care needs. Can I still stay?

Contact us before you book. We will confirm whether we can meet your specific needs based on what your NDIS plan covers.

Can my support coordinator make a booking for me?

Yes. Your support coordinator can contact our team directly or fill out the booking form on your behalf.

What if I want to join activities but I am not sure I can?

Tell us when you book. We plan activities so that everyone can take part at their own level. You are never required to join anything.

What do I need to bring?

Bring your personal items, clothing, and any medications. We provide meals, bedding, and all activity materials. We will give you a full list when you book.

What happens if my needs change during my stay?

Tell a staff member. We adjust your support during the stay if something changes. For clinical concerns, we contact your nurse or emergency services as needed.
