What community participation support is
Community participation support is NDIS funding for a support worker to assist you to take part in activities in your community.
It is not a group program you are placed in. It is not a fixed activity list. It is support, built around what you want to do and where you want to go.
Community participation support is for participants who want to connect with their community, socially, recreationally, or civically, but need support to do so because of their disability.
What we support you to do
SA Holistic Care is registered under NDIS registration group 0125, Participation in Community, Social and Civic Activities. We support participants to access:
Social activities
Community events, social groups, local clubs, and get-togethers.
Recreational activities
Sports, arts, classes, hobbies, and leisure activities that match your interests.
Civic activities
Voting, attending appointments, volunteering, and engaging with your local community.
Community connections
Building friendships and becoming part of groups in your local area.
Transport
Getting to and from activities safely as part of your support.
Support is delivered one-on-one in the community, on a schedule that works for you.
What community participation support does not cover
Community participation funding does not cover:
Your support worker's time is what is funded, not the activity cost itself.
Is this support right for you?
Community participation support may be right for you if:
If you are not sure whether your plan includes this funding, your support coordinator or LAC can confirm. It appears in your Core Supports budget under Category 04.
